:  an acute usually fatal epizootic disease especially of cats that is caused by a single-stranded RNA virus of the genus Parvovirus (species Feline panleukopenia virus) and is characterized by fever, diarrhea, and dehydration and by extensive destruction of white blood cells—called also cat distemper, cat fever, cat plague, cat typhoid, feline distemper, feline enteritis, feline panleukopenia
