Medical Definition of NEPHROTIC SYNDROME
: an abnormal condition that is marked especially by deficiency of albumin in the blood and excess excretion of protein in the urine due to altered permeability of the glomerular basement membranes (as from membranous glomerulonephritis, minimal change disease, or diabetes mellitus)
