: a sexually transmitted disease characterized by ulceration and formation of granulations on the genitalia and in the groin area and caused by a bacterium of the genus Calymmatobacterium (C. granulomatis synonym Donovania granulomatis) which is usually recovered from lesions as Donovan bodies
