Medical Definition of GEL FILTRATION
: chromatography in which the material to be fractionated separates primarily according to molecular size as it moves through a column of a gel and is washed with a solvent so that the fractions appear successively at the end of the column—called also gel chromatography, molecular sieve chromatography
