:  any of three large bands of nerve fibers that join each hemisphere of the cerebellum with the parts of the brain below and in front: a :  one connecting the cerebellum with the midbrain—called also brachium conjunctivum, pedunculus cerebellaris superior, superior cerebellar peduncle b :  one connecting the cerebellum with the pons—called also brachium pontis, middle cerebellar peduncle, middle peduncle, pedunculus cerebellaris medius c :  one that connects the cerebellum with the medulla oblongata and the spinal cord—called also inferior cerebellar peduncle, pedunculus cerebellaris inferior, restiform body
