: any of a group of genetically determined disorders (as Hunter's syndrome and Hurler's syndrome) of glycosaminoglycan metabolism that are characterized by the accumulation of glycosaminoglycans in the tissues and their excretion in the urine—called also gargoylism, lipochondrodystrophy
